MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Defense ministers of the Collective Security Treat Organization (CSTO) member-states will coordinate the list of military colleges, which will train national military personnel on favorable conditions, at a Wednesday meeting, the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.
"Within the framework of the joint military training program, the CSTO defense ministers will coordinate the list of military colleges, which will train cadets and officers on favorable conditions, as well as the list of firing ranges and training centers for honing combat skills of such cadets and officers, on Wednesday," a ministry spokesman said.
He pointed out that military personnel would be trained to fight both as part of national units, and the collective security forces.
At the present time the CSTO operates three joint task forces: the western task force (Russian-Belarussian), the Caucasian task force (Russian-Armenian), and the Central Asia task force (the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CRDF), comprising 11 battalions from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan).
The spokesman stated that the meeting was expected to sign documents on technical cover of railways and discuss the CSTO budget, funding the Unified HQ and the CRDF.
The meeting will take place at the Russian General Staff Academy and will be chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov.
CSTO member-states include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
