Russia to launch three navigation satellites Dec 25

BAIKONUR. Nov 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia plans to launch three navigation satellites of the GLONASS-M/GLONASS system on December 25, a source from Russia's Baikonur space center told Interfax on Tuesday.

A DM-3 upper stage that will be attached to a Proton-K launch vehicle to place the satellites into orbit was delivered to Baikonur by train on Tuesday, the source said.

The upper stage is to be unloaded at the assembly and test building on November 30 to be prepared for the launch.

The launch is planned as part of the special federal program Global Navigation System adopted in 2001.
