MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax-AVN) - More than 80 extremists were detained, and up to 40 kilograms of explosives were confiscated during this year's celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany, Federal Security Service (FSB) director Nikolai Patrushev said at a meeting with Russia's leading media groups in Moscow on Friday.
"More than 80 extremist-minded activists of a number of politicized organizations were detained during the May holidays," he said.
"A criminal group comprising three people who plotted a terrorist attack on a government building in Novosibirsk was uncovered," Patrushev said.
"Nearly 40 kilograms of explosives were confiscated from caches," he said.
