GROZNY. Jan 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Test pilot Khairudi Visingireyev has been appointed Chechen Security Council secretary, Chechen President Alu Alkhanov told Interfax.
"We considered several candidates and concluded that Colonel Visingireyev with his rich experience of service in the Armed Forces will cope with the complex task of heading the Security Council," he said.
Visingireyev has been chief of staff of the Vostok (East) special purpose battalion and an assistant to first deputy prime minister of Chechnya.
He replaces the late Rudnik Dudayev, the Security Council secretary since the beginning of 2001, who died in a house fire a month ago.
