Georgia deports three Russian servicemen

TBILISI. Feb 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The Georgian Foreign Ministry is to deport the three Russian servicemen who were detained near the village of Kurta in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone on Wednesday evening.

"The servicemen entered Georgian territory illegally. They did not have Georgian entry visas or even passports," the ministry said on Thursday.

"The case is being investigated, and the deportation process has begun," the ministry said.

Colonel Vladimir Ivanov, Lieutenant Colonel Gennady Petrosian and military traffic police officer Valery Krok were charged with trespassing. They spent last night at the Kurta police precinct.
