MOSCOW/SUKHUMI. April 24 (Interfax-AVN) - A delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is to arrive in Abkhazia for a one-day visit on May 6, the breakaway province's Foreign Minister Sergei Shamba told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
"We have agreed to meet and hold negotiations. The delegation's members want to know what is being done to settle the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict. We will make our position on the matter clear," Shamba said.
The minister denied media reports claiming the delegation would visit Russia's former military base in Gudauta.
"The delegation's members will only meet with the president of Abkhazia, the parliamentary speaker and the foreign minister," he said.
The delegation consists of NATO Parliamentary Assembly President Pierre Lelouche (France) and assembly members Vahit Erdem (Turkey), Bert Koenders (the Netherlands), and Simon Lunn (Great Britain).
