Policeman detained in Chechnya for cooperating with militants

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 28 (Interfax-AVN) -- Ibragim Aidayev, an officer of the patrol and inspection service of Chechnya's Shatoi district department of interior affairs who cooperated with militants was detained, a source in Chechen law-enforcement agencies told Interfax by phone on Friday.

The police officer assisted militants in arms and ammunition trafficking, the source said.

"Aidayev is currently giving a confession," he noted.

The man's involvement in other crimes is being checked.
