Commanding officers of Russian air defense missile forces attending training session

MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax-AVN) - A training session for commanding officers of the Russian Air Force's air defense missile forces started on Monday, Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, assistant to the Air Force commander-in-chief, told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The training session involving commanding officers of large units and units of air defense missile forces and academies is underway at the Kapustin Yar training ground, the State Flight Testing Center in Akhtubinsk and the Yaroslavl Air Defense College," Drobyshevsky said.

Lieutenant General Alexander Gorkov, commander of the air defense missile forces, is in charge of the training session, he noted.

"Participants in the training session will sum up results of the air defense missile forces' combat training in the winter instruction period and analyze the state of combat and mobilization readiness," Drobyshevsky said.

Defense industry officials will brief the participants on prospects of surface-to-air missile system development and the latest achievements of the domestic defense industry, he added.
