MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax-AVN) - The rotation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Tskhinvali region was carried out according to plan and in line with all existing regulations, Russian Foreign Ministry special envoy and Joint Control Commission Co-Chairman Yury Popov has said.
"We proceed from the assumption that the rotation was carried out according to plan, in line with a practice that has been used in the past 14 years, and in line with all regulations, that is, with the peacekeeping contingent commander notifying the co-chairman about the dates when the rotation would be carried out a month ahead. Therefore, we disagree with Georgia that the rotation was carried out unlawfully," Popov said.
