MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax-AVN) - The departure of about 1,000 Russians living in Lebanon from that country is scheduled for Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.
"The evacuation of our countrymen from Lebanon is beginning today, July 18. The first group of 270 evacuees is leaving Beirut in the direction of the border with Syria. From there they will proceed to the international airport in Latakia. Planes of the Russian Emergency Situations' Ministry will fly them to Moscow from there," a ministry statement says.
"The bulk of the Russian community in Lebanon, about 1,000 persons, is to follow the same route on July 19," the ministry said.
