Police operation resumed in Kodori Gorge

TBILISI. July 27 (Interfax-AVN) - A police operation in Georgia's Kodori Gorge, which was suspended on Wednesday evening, was resumed early on Thursday, Rustavi-2 television has reported.

Police forces are conducting a search in local villages.

An assault of a mountain near the village of Azhara, where rebel leader Emzar Kvitsiani and about 50 of his followers are supposedly hiding, has not yet been started.

Rustavi-2 also reported that five members of the group led by Kvitsiani had surrendered to the police overnight to Thursday.
