MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The organizers of the 10th Interpolitex 2006 exhibition of law enforcement equipment expect more than 50,000 visitors to attend the show.
"The figure was 50,000 last year, and this time we expect it to increase," Nikolai Marichev, the first deputy director general of the Bizon exhibition association, told Interfax-AVN on Friday.
He added that several thousand invitations have been sent to defense companies, ministries and agencies concerned, and it is expected that high-ranking uniformed agencies' officials will be present at the opening ceremony.
"Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev confirmed he will open the exhibition," Marichev said.
He also said that during the exhibition weapons and equipment for special military and police forces will be demonstrated. Interior Ministry detachments are to make a performance, and an antiterrorist unit will show hostage-freeing demonstration.
"In addition to that, conferences, seminars and round-table meetings on security issues will be organized during the exhibition," he said.
The exhibition will be held at the All-Russia Exhibition Center in Moscow from October 17 till October 20.
