Defense Industry Commission to discuss development of future weapons

MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The Defense Industry Commission under the Russian government will hold its regular session in Moscow on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry's PR directorate reported.

The session will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov. Its main focus will be "development of future hardware and armaments," the report reads.

"Moreover, the session will consider conformity between events and figures in the state defense order for 2007 as far as future weapons are concerned," it says.

The main objectives of the session are to pool efforts and resources to carry out the most important research, development, test and technological projects, and to determine systemic measures aimed at ensuring the most efficient development of all types of future weapons, the document reads.
