MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax-AVN) - About 200 general and senior officers are taking part in a four-day mobilization exercise of the Strategic Missile Forces, the forces' Public Relations Service told Interfax-AVN on Monday.
"Participants in the exercise will focus their attention on combat employment of Strategic Missile Forces units, as well as working out common approaches to mobilization and combat training in contemporary environment," an official said.
He noted that the exercise was headed by Strategic Missile Forces Commander Colonel General Nikolai Solovtsov. The exercise is seeing participation of about 200 general and senior officers, including heads of directorates and services, firing ranges, units, colleges, and the 4th Research and Development Institute.
He pointed out that participants in the exercise would undergo training, dealing with the most pressing problems in troops combat training and employement.
The exercise also envisions a meeting of the Strategic Missile Forces Council, which will sum up the results of the 2006 training period and set tasks for 2007.
