MINSK. Nov 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Belarussian air defense units will hold several exercises with live firing at Russian training grounds in 2007, Lieutenant General Oleg Paferov, Belarussian Air Force and Air Defense commander, said on Tuesday.
"Live firing of S-200 surface-to-air missile systems at the Telemba training ground in Russia's Chita region is scheduled for 2007," Paferov told a news conference in Minsk.
Belarussian air defense units will also take part in the Combat Commonwealth 2007 coalition exercise, due to take place at the Ashuluk training ground in Russia's Astrakhan region, he said. "We have already announced our participation in these war games," he noted.
"These events are not cheap, but we get enough allocations to maintain combat readiness," Paferov stressed.
