Militant arrested in Chechnya

GROZNY. Nov 15 (Interfax-AVN) - A member of a criminal armed group, named Khairulla, was arrested in a sweep operation in Chechnya's Urus-Martan, sources in the Chechen Interior Ministry informed Interfax on Wednesday.

The militant was a member of an illegal armed group under the command of Arbi Barayev, killed in July 2003, a ministry source said.

In other developments, a militant from an illegal armed group led by federally wanted field commander Imurzayev was arrested in Grozny's Oktyabrsky district. The militant said he had surrendered his Kalashnikov rifle when he quit the criminal armed group.
