Russian navy intensifies anti-terror operations - commander

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's navy has intensified operations to combat international terrorism.

"Russia is involved in NATO's Active Endeavor operation and is patrolling the Mediterranean jointly with NATO ships to prevent terror attacks, the transfer of weapons of mass destruction and drugs," Russia's Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Masorin told Interfax-AVN.

"We are preparing to join the Black Sea Harmony anti-terror operation," he said.

"The operation involves the Russian and Turkish navies, but we hope other Black Sea nations will join in," Masorin said.
