MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Industrial production in the Russian defense industry sector grew by 6.7% in January-October 2006 compared to the same period in 2005, and civilian production grew by 0.7%, the Industry and Energy Ministry reported.
Industrial production grew in all segments except for shipbuilding and conventional weapons (a decline by 13.1% and 1.1% respectively), it said.
The highest production growth was recorded in the aircraft building sector (22.1%), radio-engineering (9.8%), and ammunition and special chemical products (9.4%), it said.
