KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Boiko will visit Sweden and Denmark to discuss development of military cooperation with those countries.
"The agenda of the visit includes several working meetings between Boiko and leaders of the Swedish Defense Ministry's departments on November 22," the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service told Interfax-AVN.
The parties to the meetings will address regional security, development of bilateral military cooperation, Ukraine's cooperation with NATO and support to Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, the press service said.
Ukrainian and Swedish military will share experience in armed forces restructuring and in peacekeeping operations under UN and NATO auspices. They will also consider the possibility of involving airplanes of the Ukrainian Air Transportation Company, owned by the Defense Ministry, in air transportation in the Swedish Armed Forces' interests.
The Ukrainian delegation will visit Copenhagen on Friday and Saturday. Boiko is expected to meet with high-ranking officials of the Danish Defense Ministry there. The parties will hold military-political consultations, discuss promising fields of bilateral military cooperation, and share experience in armed forces development.
The main attention during the talks will be paid to further development of the defense ministries' cooperation in the interests of ensuring environmental security of the armed forces, as well as coping with consequences of military activity.
