Russian, Tajik defense ministers sign cooperation agreement

BREST. Nov 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia and Tajikistan signed an agreement on joint planning of use of force in case of war in the interests of joint national security.

The document was signed during the meeting of the CIS defense ministers by Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and Tajik Defense Minister Colonel General Sherali Khairulloyev.

Apart from that, a cooperation agreement between Russian and Kyrgyz military was signed concerning the security of flights. Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ismail Isakov put his signature under the document for the Kyrgyz side.

The meeting also resolved to approve the model concept of social aid and rehabilitation of servicemen and family members, civilian personnel of the Armed Forces, who are directly involved or were involved in the protection of their country.

In addition, a model concept was also approved regulating the cooperation of CIS Armed Forces with religious organizations for the purpose of moral enlightenment of servicemen, their family members and Armed Forces' civilian personnel.

In order to bolster the development of the CIS Unified Air Defense System, an action plan for 2007 was drafted.
