TSKHINVALI. Nov 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Airspace over the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict area has been violated by an unidentified helicopter, the combined headquarters of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces reported in a statement.
The Russia's Avnevi peacekeeping outpost recorded the flight of an Mi-8 helicopter in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict area at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, the statement says.
"The Mi-8 flew from southeast to northwest at an altitude of 800 meters," it says.
The peacekeepers described the flight as a gross violation of agreements on settling the conflict, particularly a protocol entitled 'On unsanctioned flights of aircraft over the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict area'.
