MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Head of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service General Viktor Cherkesov is to visit Iran in early December.
"It is expected that Cherkesov's visit to Tehran will take place during the next week," the service's press service told Interfax on Friday.
During his visit, Cherkesov will hold talks with the authorities of Iranian law enforcement agencies, in particular with the head of the Iranian Drug Control Headquarters, it said.
"Issues related to further Russian-Iranian cooperation in countering illegal drug trafficking will be discussed," it said.
Iran is an observer at the Channel exercise held under the auspices of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to counter drag trafficking from Afghanistan.
