Ukraine, U.S. may sign new space cooperation accord in January

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Ukraine and the United States may sign a new framework agreement on space cooperation early next year, deputy head of the Ukrainian National Space Agency Eduard Kuznetsov told the press in Kyiv on Thursday.

"I think we will sign the document in January, as everything is almost ready," he said.

The issue will be discussed when a delegation from the agency visits the U.S. in December, he said.

The validity of the previous agreement, which was signed in November 1994, has expired. Besides, it is now possible to broaden the partnership, Kuznetsov said.
