Georgia to enter NATO in 2009 – president (Part 2)

TBILISI. Feb 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgia will enter NATO in 2009, President Mikheil Saakashvili said on Monday.

"We have always avoided naming the date of Georgian accession to NATO, but the organization's secretary general has done it himself," he said. "This is more proof of Georgia's irreversible integration into NATO."

"Entry into NATO means not only participation in the strongest military-political alliance but also the fulfillment of Georgia's dream," Saakashvili said.
