MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax-AVN) - London wishes to continue cooperation with the Russian authorities in the investigation into the murder of former Federal Security Service (FSB) officer Alexander Litvinenko, British ambassador to Russia Tony Brenton said.
Scotland Yard has recently given the materials of the case to the Crown Prosecution Service, and if the service upholds the materials we will be able to bring charges against a suspect and demand his extradition, he said in an interview with the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper published on Tuesday.
British police visited Moscow in December and interviewed everyone they wished to, Brenton said.
The Russian Prosecutor General's Office began its own investigation and sent a request to London, which was followed by a meeting with its British, he said.
