MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The police in the Dagestani town of Derbent apprehended a local citizen for storing weapons illegally, a law enforcement official told Interfax-AVN.
"The man was arrested following a sweep in the vicinity of the local market. He had a Kalashnikov assault rifle and 30 7.62-mm rounds on him," he said.
The official added that another Kalashnikov was voluntarily handed over to the police in the Talsukh village of Dagestan's Tlyaratinsky district, and an unemployed local in Chechnya's Argun, also voluntarily, gave up a Makarov pistol to local police.
