ASTANA. March 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Kazakhstan extradited 34 international terrorists last year, secretary of the country's Security Council Berik Imashev said in Astana on Wednesday.
"The national security agencies of Kazakhstan tracked down and extradited 34 international terrorists from the country in 2006 alone," Imashev told a conference addressing today's situation, goals and prospects of the country's international cooperation.
Kazakhstan and "the appropriate agencies of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan regularly exchange information on persons suspected of involvement in international terrorist organizations or links with them," he said.
Last year, the Collective Security Treaty Organization drew up a draft protocol on lists of terrorist and extremist organizations posing a threat to security in CSTO members, he said.
Expert groups within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have compiled a single list of terrorist, separatist and extremist organizations banned on the territory of SCO member states, Imashev said.
The upcoming SCO summit in Bishkek is expected to adopt "a number of important anti-terrorist documents," he said.
