14 large spacecraft producers to appear in Russia by 2010 - Roscosmos

KALUGA. March 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Major research and production centers will be established in Russia's spacecraft manufacturing industry, Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) head Anatoly Perminov told a session of the State Council's presidium that addressed the development of the country's space industry in Kaluga on Thursday.

"The pace at which enterprises of the spacecraft building sector have been consolidating allows us to expect to have up to 14 major integrated structures in 2010," he said.

All spacecraft manufacturing enterprises will be merged "into three-four even larger complexes that will account for up to 90% of assets and the labor force" by 2015, Perminov said.
