Conference to address strengthening of Russia’s aerial borders

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Participants in an Air Force conference, which will take place at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region from Monday to Friday, will see a demonstrative exercise of surface-to-air missile forces, Air Force assistant commander-in-chief Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax-AVN.

"Participants in the conference analyze Air Force combat training in 2006 and determine missions for the 2007 academic year. They are also to discuss theoretical and practical problems of Russian aerial border strengthening, as well as preparations for, conduction of, and support of exercises at Air Force training grounds," Drobyshevsky noted.

Radio-technical units and aviation (Su-27, Su-24 and MiG-29 planes will demonstrate their performance during the practical part of the conference, he added.
