Europe will pay for the deployment of U.S. missile defense system – Baluyevsky (Part 2)

MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Chief of the Russian General Staff Gen. of the Army Yury Baluyevsky has warned Europeans that they will pay a heavy price for the deployment of a U.S. anti-missile system in Europe.

"In my opinion, today not only the military, but also the majority of Europeans understand that they are becoming hostages in a game the United States is playing, when the bets are made overseas and the Europeans have to pay," the general said at a briefing on Tuesday in Moscow.

"They are trying to persuade us that if a missile is hit with an interceptor missile launched from Poland, then only fragments of the missile will fall on Europe. However, the wreckage may vary in size, not 50 centimeters, but 20 centimeters. But whether it's 20 or 25 centimeters, the size does not matter for the person they fall on," he said.
