Russian Air Force loses two aircraft, helicopter in accidents in 2007

MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Air Force saw two air accidents and an emergency during the winter training period of 2007, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax-AVN on Friday.

"As a result two MiG-29s and a Mi-8 were lost," he said.

According to him, the information was aired by Russian Air Force Commander-in-Chief Colonel General Alexander Zelin at a meeting of the Air Force Military Council.

He also noted that Air Force units had conducted over 100 various tactical exercises, with 80% of them involving live rounds.
