MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian businessman Andrei Lugovoi has declined to comment on the Prosecutor General Office's refusal to extradite him to London and confirmed his readiness to cooperate with Russian detectives.
"I would like to refrain from comments regarding the official refusal of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia to grant the UK authorities' request seeking my extradition. I am convinced that the Russian judicial system and the Prosecutor General Office's decisions are objective, impartial and based on law," Lugovoi told Interfax on Thursday.
"I have my doubts regarding the independence and objectivity of the British judicial system," he said.
Lugovoi said he is ready to continue helping Russian detectives establish the truth in the death of former Federal Security Service officer Alexander Litvinenko and tackle other issues related to Russia's security.
