MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Finland hails the possibility of a dialogue between Russia and the United States on the development of an antimissile defense system (NMD) in Europe, Chief of Defense of the Finnish Defense Forces Juhani Kaskeala said.
"Finns would be pleased to see a new area of cooperation between the U.S., NATO and Russia in the area of the development of the NMD system," Kaskeala told journalists in Moscow on Friday.
It is important that this dialogue is held "in good agreement and mutual understanding," he said.
"Finland does not challenge interests of any of these sides," the admiral said. Finland is a NATO member and is not directly party to this dialogue, he said.
