MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case involving FSB Lt. Col. Pavel Ryaguzov and his alleged abuse of office in the Anna Politkovskaya murder investigation.
The Ryaguzov criminal case was opened on September 11 under the Criminal Code's article 285 (abuse of office) and is related to the Anna Politkovskaya murder investigation, a source close to investigation told Interfax.
"Ryaguzov is involved in the activity of the group that committed illegal acts," the source said.
Ryaguzov's defense lawyers refused to comment on this issue.
Interfax has no official confirmation of this information from the Investigation Committee within the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.
