NAZRAN. Sept 13 (Interfax-AVN) - A coordinating meeting of law enforcement agencies in Ingushetia to address the series of murders of civilians in the republic of late was held in Nazran on Thursday.
"Until the criminals acting in Ingushetia have been caught, no decisions, including political ones, will be made," presidential envoy to the Southern Federal District Dmitry Kozak said at the meeting.
"The killings of civilians are ethnically-motivated, these crimes are political and are aimed at attaining certain goals," he said.
Law enforcement agencies in Ingushetia are acting inefficiently, Kozak said.
"The principal goal is to look into the prevention of crimes and coordinate the activities of law enforcement and security agencies," he said.
Attempts should also be made to radically improve work with the local population, Kozak said.
"An overwhelming majority of people should take the side of law enforcement agencies. This work requires tough but legal measures," Kozak said.
