Adm. Vysotsky appointed Russian Navy commander

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Adm. Vladimir Vysotsky has been appointed Russia's Navy commander after the retirement of previous commander Fleet Adm. Vladimir Masorin, a security agencies source told Interfax on Thursday.

"Masorin turned 60 on August 24, the age limit for a military commander. Adm. Vladimir Vysotsky, previously commander of the Northern Fleet, has been appointed new Navy commander," the source said.
