MINSK. Sept 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Experts from the members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are meeting in Minsk to discuss the draft plan of major events for the implementation of the concept for further development of the organization.
"The interstate working group session is planning to discuss these documents on September 14. The draft concept and its implementation plan are to be considered at a Council of CIS Heads of States in Dushanbe on October 5, and by the session of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers on October 4," the CIS Executive Committee told Interfax on Thursday.
Earlier, First Deputy of CIS Executive Secretary Vladimir Garkun told Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko that the draft concept previews a further "evolutionary development of CIS, economic and the political integration of member states to improve interaction."
"The priority will be economic and humanitarian sectors, security issues, the fight against crime and terrorism, and migration and environment issues," Garkun said.
