PM candidate proposes national anti-corruption committee

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Viktor Zubkov, the candidate for Russian prime minister, said a dedicated body ought to be set up to combat corruption along the same sort of lines as the National Anti-terror Committee.

"We need to set an official body up - something like Rosfinmonitoring [Russian Financial Monitoring], which I'm in charge of right now, which would sort corruption out on a regular, daily basis rather than selectively," Zubkov said in the State Duma.

"This could be something like the National Anti-Terror Committee, which was set up a year ago and which is working pretty well today," Zubkov said.
