MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax-AVN) - An unidentified woman reported at about noon on Friday that a terrorist attack was to take place at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, a Moscow law enforcement source said.
A woman phoned a police officer at 11.45 a.m. from a telephone booth at 8, Sadovo-Kudrinskaya Street and said that a bomb would go off along Novinsky Boulevard soon, the source said.
Rescuers and fire brigades arrived on the scene, the source said. Police experts are taking fingerprints inside the booth.
The information is likely to be bogus, according to the source. An effort to identify the woman should be take place, according to the source. If found, the source said she would be charged with filing a false report on a terrorist act.
"U.S. Embassy guards did not allow police on its grounds. Police are, however, examining the area outside the building," the source said.
