Kazakhstan rotated its peacemakers in Iraq

Almaty. October 4. Interfax-Kazakhstan - Kazakhstan has once again rotated its peacemakers in Iraq.

The ninth detachment of Kazakh peacemaking brigade Kazbrig arrived at Delta military base in Iraq these days, according to Khabar newscast.

The TV channel broadcasted an interview with Kazakh Deputy Minister Bulat Sembinov last Wednesday.

According to earlier reports, peacekeepers from Kazakhstan staying in Iraq within the coalition forces have neutralize nearly 5 ml shells in the country thus far.

Kazakhstani sappers are involved in mine-clearing operations and help supply the local population with drinking water since August 2003. The contingent is rotated once every six months.

One Kazakh serviceman was killed while fulfilling his peacemaking duties in Iraq, several were wounded.
