MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Aeroflot - Russian Airlines and the AerCap leasing company (the Netherlands) have signed a contract for the leasing of six new A320 200 passenger planes to Aeroflot for ten years.
The planes are to be delivered between July 2008 and March 2009, Aeroflot said in a statement.
The planes are powered with CFM 56-5B4/3 engines and are intended for schedule replacement of Tupolev Tu-134s and Tu-154s. The new planes will be used for regular medium-range flights.
Aeroflot currently operates 29 A320s. Twenty-seven more A320s are expected to be added to the company's fleet before the end of 2010.
