MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax-AVN) - A grenade was fired from Georgian positions against a police station building in a village in the Georgian breakaway South Ossetia region late on Friday, the South Ossetian government said.
"No one was hurt by the shot, nor has any destruction been registered," Irina Gagloyeva, head of the South Ossetian Information and Press Committee, told Interfax-AVN by telephone from the regional capital, Tskhinvali.
The alleged incident occurred in Ergneti village.
"This is one more provocative outrage on the part of the Georgian security services in the conflict zone that was aimed at creating an anxious atmosphere in the region," she said.
The alleged shot "is one of the events we have nearly got used to, however there have been increasing provocations on a larger scale in the conflict zone recently," Gagloyeva said.
