About 5,000 serve prison terms for terrorism, extremism – official

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 4,800 people serve prison terms for committing terrorism-related crimes in Russia.

"A total of 4,860 people are serving sentences all over the country for such crimes as terrorism, extremism, membership in illegal armed groups, and other related crimes," Russian Penitentiary Service head Yury Kalinin told a news conference at Interfax on Tuesday.
