Six more Su-24s to be modernized in Novosibirsk

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Six Su-24 bombers in service with the Russian Far East Air Force and Air Defense Forces Army will undergo modernization at the Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant.

"The six bombers, accompanied by the An-12 air transport, left a Khabarovsk airfield for Novosibirsk to undergo modernization," Aide to the Russian Air Force Commander-in-Chief Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.

"In the next few days the same pilots will ferry six Su-24Ms upgraded back to their home base," he added.

Pilots have undergone conversion training at the Lipetsk Flight Center and will not improve their flight skills by flying upgraded Su-24Ms, Drobyshevsky said.
