Three high-ranking generals dismissed from Russia’s Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Three generals of the Russian Defense Ministry have been dismissed, the defense minister's adviser Ilshat Baichurin told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

They are Chief of the Ministry's Accommodation Service Gen. of the Army Anatoly Grebenyuk, Chief of the Main Tank Automotive Command Col. Gen. Vladislav Polonsky and Chief of the Main Military Medical Department Col. Gen. Igor Bykov, he said.

Deputy commander of the Volga-Urals Military District for Armaments Lt. Gen. Nikolai Yershov was put in charge of the Main Tank Automotive Command.

Deputy Chief of the Main Military Medical Department Maj. Gen. Vladimir Shappo headed the department.

'The position of the accommodation service chief is still vacant," Baichurin said.
