TBILISI. Feb 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgia should continue its policy of improving relations with Russia, OSCE chairman-in-office, Finnish Foreign Minster Ilkka Kanerva said.
"Georgia undertook obligations and makes every effort to improve relations with Russia and this is positive, this should continue," Kanerva said after a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister David Bakradze in Tbilisi on Wednesday.
"The improvement of relations with Russia is a basic element for prosperity in the region," he said.
Kanerva vowed to help Georgia in holding democratic elections to the parliament this spring and overcoming shortcomings registered by the OSCE observer mission at the January presidential election.
"In connection with this we hail the dialogue between the opposition and the authorities, because it promotes healthy situation," Kanerva said.
