Russian National Antiterrorism Committee opens website

MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC), a body coordinating antiterrorism activities in the country, has opened its website (http://nak.fsb.ru), whose presentation ceremony took place at the Federal Security Service (FSB) headquarters on Wednesday.

"A decision on opening a NAC website was made to attract civil society activists' attention to issues related to combating terrorism," NAC deputy secretariat chief Maj. Gen. Viktor Orlov told journalists.

The website, in particular, provides information on 17 organizations that Russian courts have qualified as terrorist ones, Orlov said.

"We are trying to make sure that those interested in antiterrorism issues could receive an exhaustive answer to any question on the website," he said.

The website offers a feedback service so that anyone could ask questions related to measures against terrorism, he said.

The NAC website will also provide video and photo documents in the near future, Orlov said.

The website is properly protected, in particular, against attempts to post unsanctioned information, he said.
