MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax-AVN) - More than 77,000 families of Russian servicemen have moved into apartments since 1992 thanks to the program of state housing certificates, Col. Vasily Lavrenyuk, spokesman for the defense Ministry's Accommodations Service, told Interfax-AVN.
"State housing certificates are one of the main means to provide officers ending service with apartments," Lavrenyuk said.
In the first half of 2008, the price of one square meter of housing received under the state housing certificate program is 23,400 rubles. This figure has coefficients in different regions - 1.2 in Moscow, St.Petersburg and Moscow Region, 1.15 in the Eastern Siberian economic region and in Sverdlovsk Region, and 1.1 in the Western-Siberian economic region and Kaliningrad region.
