Kremlin source: “hottest phase” in Kosovo saga still ahead

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax-AVN) - A Kremlin source said that developments in Kosovo have yet to reach their "hottest phase" and that "they [NATO] are aware of this."

"You can see the provoked, spontaneous riots in [the Kosovo city of] Mitrovica," the source told Interfax.

Things may get worse when Kosovo authorities get down to approving national symbols for their country, the source said.

Asked how Russia was reacting to a decision by the United States to lift restrictions on weapons supplies for Kosovo, the source said: "They won't supply missile defense systems, and nothing else would surprise Belgrade."

"It's a problem for them [the United States]. They have already taken as many weapons there as they needed to when the war was still going on there. They armed enough of those bandits, sometimes without notifying their NATO partners. When the war in Yugoslavia ended, Russia was asking who would disarm them. France and Germany answered that they did not arm them. Today they are in effect trying to legalize what they've done," the source said.
