Alenia representatives will join Sukhoi Board in May

MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Two representatives of Italy's Alenia Aeronautica will be elected to the Board of Directors of the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA) company at its annual shareholder meeting slated for May 5, senior vice president of the company Maxim Grishanin told the press.

Alenia was allowed to buy a blocking stake in the SCA by a presidential decree at the end of last year.

Grishanin said that Alenia will be purchasing its stake in two stages. The SCA Board is expected to decide soon on an additional share issue that will fully be placed with Alenia.

In autumn SCA will conduct one more issue of shares that will be placed with both the main shareholder - Sukhoi holding - and Alenia on a scale necessary to raise a blocking stake.

Grishanin said the price of the deal will be announced later.

He also said that under a previous agreement with Alenia SCA can have only two shareholders. Moreover, if the Italian company decides to sell its stake, it will have to offer it to the Sukhoi holding.
